Why live printing works in Dubai
Dubai's event season runs from October to April, and it's packed. GITEX fills Dubai World Trade Centre every October, Gulfood takes over in February, and the months between are full of launches, conferences and brand experiences that are meant to impress.
The stands here are big and the budgets are serious. A live printing station gives visitors something to do and a well-made piece to take home, which stands out on a floor full of screens and catering.
US-based, travels worldwide
Heat, timing and approvals
Summer in Dubai rules out outdoor setups, so from June to September every job we plan is indoors and air-conditioned. During the cooler season, outdoor activations work well, and we still bring shade.
Power is 230V on UK-style plugs, and our equipment plan is confirmed with the venue contractor first. Gear travels on an ATA Carnet. Artwork goes through the organiser's approvals early so nothing gets held on the day.
We plan schedules around the UAE's Saturday–Sunday weekend and, when it applies, the calendar around Ramadan.
Merch Troop is based in La Habra, California. We run live printing across the US and travel internationally when the event is right, and Dubai jobs get the same crew and the same process.

Good to know
Do you work in the UAE?
Yes. Merch Troop is based in La Habra, California, and travels internationally, including to the Gulf. The crew flies in and the equipment travels on an ATA Carnet.
Can you run an outdoor activation in summer?
We don't recommend it. From June to September, we plan indoor, air-conditioned setups only.
Do designs need approval?
Often, yes. Organisers and venues may review artwork, so we build that time into the schedule.
